Every shop and field tool has a record and a QR label. The app shows where each tool is, who has it, and everything that's happened to it. Keep it current and nobody has to hunt for a tool again.

Set up once

1. Open cmitools.com on your phone.
2. Sign in with your first name and PIN. The first time, your PIN is the last 4 digits of your cell. After that the app opens straight in.
3. The app asks you to pick your own 4 to 8 digit PIN. Use that from now on.
4. In Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen. It now opens like an app, and you stay signed in.

Find a tool

On the home screen, tap Scan a tool and point at its QR label. Or type in Find a tool, or tap Browse all tools.

How to

Move a tool	Open it → under Move to, tap Office, Tool Room, Shop or Install Van.
Take a tool with you	Open it → your name is already picked → Check out.
Put it back	Home → Return next to the tool → tap where you put it.
Hand it to someone	Open it → pick their name → Check out.
Broken, missing or lost	Open it → under Condition, tap Broken, Missing or Lost → add a note → confirm.
Add a photo	Open it → Add tool photo → Take Photo. If it has a serial plate, add that too. Tap a photo to zoom, retake or remove it.
Fix a detail (serial #, etc.)	Open it → Edit details → Save.
New tool	Home → Add a tool → fill in what you know → pick where it's going → Add tool. Tell the office so they can print its label.
Audit	Audit tab → tap the room you're in → Scan and point at each label (or tap Found here). Done with the room? Mark the rest not found.

Ground rules

• Update it when the tool moves, not at the end of the day.
• Every change is saved under your name and the time. Your PIN is yours, so don't share it.
• Forgot your PIN? Ask an admin to reset it. To change it yourself: Menu (⋯) → Change my PIN.
• No signal? The change won't save. Try again once you have a connection.
• Label missing or damaged? Tell the office and they'll print a new one.
